DEVUP Code

Sign in and account

Connect DEVUP Code to your DEVUP account through your browser, or paste an API key if you prefer. This page also explains the key each editor receives, how to sign out, and what to do when your balance is low.

Sign in with your browser

  1. Open the DEVUP AI panel and choose Sign in with DEVUP.
  2. On devupai.com, review the request and click Allow access.
  3. The editor finishes signing in by itself, with nothing for you to copy or paste.

Your sign-in lives in the secure storage the editor provides on this device. It is not stored in settings or in files.

The API key your editor receives

  • Each sign-in gives the editor an API key of its own.
  • Its name combines the editor and the device, such as Cursor — DESKTOP-7Q2K.
  • To leave the device name out, turn off devupai.signIn.sendDeviceName (settings reference) before you sign in. The key then carries the editor's name only.
  • On your API keys page, these keys show an Editor sign-in badge.
  • A new sign-in from the same editor installation replaces the key that installation had before.

Sign in with an API key

Prefer a key? Paste one of your DEVUP API keys in place of the browser step. Remote and web windows sign in like this.

  1. Create a key on your API keys page.
  2. In the DEVUP AI panel, choose the API key option and paste the key, or run DEVUP AI: Set API Key from the Command Palette.

Revoke an editor's key

  1. Open your API keys page.
  2. Find the editor's key by its Editor sign-in badge and its name.
  3. Revoke it. You can do this at any time.

The editor is signed out at its next request. To use it again, sign in from the editor once more.

Sign out

To sign out, go to Account in DEVUP AI Settings, or use the Command Palette: DEVUP AI: Sign Out.

Signing out also revokes the key this editor was given.

Balance and top-ups

  • Your DEVUP balance, in dinars, appears in the status bar and in the panel header.
  • Installing the extension is free. Each request is paid from this balance.
  • Top it up with BaridiMob, CIB or Edahabia on your billing page.

A request that needs more than your balance holds gets a message from DEVUP AI with two choices: Top up, which opens your billing page, and Refresh balance.

When sign-in doesn't finish

  • Go back to the editor and read the message in the DEVUP AI panel. It explains what happened and what to do next.
  • Choose Sign in with DEVUP again, and click Allow access when devupai.com asks.
  • In a remote or web window, use the API key option above.

FAQ

Do I have to copy an API key into the editor?

No. After you click Sign in with DEVUP in the panel and Allow access on devupai.com, the editor finishes the sign-in itself. Pasting a key is an option, not a requirement.

How is the editor's key named?

After the editor and the device, such as Cursor — DESKTOP-7Q2K. With devupai.signIn.sendDeviceName turned off, only the editor's name is used.

What happens when I revoke an editor's key?

That editor is signed out the next time it sends a request. You can revoke editor keys on the API keys page whenever you like.

Does signing in again add another key?

No. A new sign-in from the same editor installation replaces that installation's key.

How do I sign out?

In DEVUP AI Settings under Account, or with DEVUP AI: Sign Out in the Command Palette. Signing out also revokes this editor's key.
